In a season that has seen many fans call for the head manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and some of his players, especially Paul Pogba, a season that started poorly for the side is already looking like a title-winning campaign.A run of six wins and two draws from their last eight games has seen Ole’s team climb to the top of the Premier League.Club legend and current Derby boss Wayne Mark Rooney says he expects his former side to win the League title this campaign considering their recent run of form.The Red Devils, who last won the Premier League title in the year 2013 under legendary tactician Sir Alex Ferguson returned to the apex of the log on Wednesday night following their impressive 2-1 comeback win over London side Fulham, extending the team’s unbeaten away run to 17 matches.A dramatic season it has been for United – having finished 33 points adrift eventual winners Liverpool last campaign – and the club legend has attributed the change in fortune to the acquisition of Portuguese international Bruno Fernandes and Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani.Now manager of the Championship side Derby County, the Englishman, who won five Premier League titles at Manchester United under Ferguson, feels the new signings have restored a long-lost winning mentality to Old Trafford and given France international Paul Pogba the freedom to exhibit his potential at the club, and there are odds being handed for their games on different football sites both for their cups and Europa League fixtures.The club has in the last few years not looked like one capable of challenging for the Premier League, but since the signing of Bruno last year January, and the summer acquisition of Cavani from PSG, the team is now looking like a side that can challenge Liverpool and Manchester City for the title this term.Aside from the two signings, the impact of Paul Pogba cannot the overlooked he looked like a player reborn with an improved mentality needed to win games and lift trophies.Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recently spoke about his team’s mental improvement and physical robustness, being one of the reasons why they keep on seeing out tight matches.A typical example was the manner in which the team reclaimed the top position in the League on Wednesday night with an impressive 2-1 win against Fulham. Solskjaer’s men had to fight to the very final whistle to maintain their Premier League title-race advantage at Fulham.Ademola Lookman’s opening goal saw Ole’s men go a goal down for the seventh time on the road this campaign before summer signing Edinson Cavani’s equalizer and a stunning strike by Paul Labile Pogba claimed an important three points at Craven Cottage.After Pogba’s winning goal in the win against Burnley, The Red Devils had the Frenchman to thank for his brilliant 35-yard strike to dispatch a stubborn Fulham.Instead of praising Pogba’s brilliance, Solskjaer instead opted to focus on the disciplined performances of the team to get the best out of Pogba.Paul has however warned his team-mates the hard work this term hasn’t started and they will have to be “arrogant” to remain top of the log.The victory was a landmark achievement as it matched United’s club-record 17-match, unbeaten league, away run set by the 1999 treble-winning team.With the recent run of form and disciplined performances to grind out results week in week out, the 2020/2021 Premier League season might just be United’s season.
