Mark Chapman introduces coverage of the draw for the first round of the FA Cup, the world’s oldest and most prestigious domestic cup competition. The first round sees the 48 teams from League One and League Two – including recent winners Wigan and Portsmouth – joined by 32 non-league sides, who are hoping for a plum tie after battling through the qualifying rounds. Last year’s first round saw non-league Eastleigh and Macclesfield both claim notable scalps, beating Swindon and Walsall respectively.
